Applicants who do not have a degree in Education or an education/teaching-related field are eligible to apply if they have formal teaching credentials, or if they complete a certification course specific to Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) or Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL, CELTA).

Formal Teaching License/Credentials

Applicants that have active, government-issued teaching qualifications that allow them to be a primary/lead teacher in the classroom should provide copies of these qualifications, especially if they did not complete their bachelor's degree in Education or a teaching-related field.

• Any teaching qualification that will expire before the expected contract start date will not be accepted.
• Postgraduate Certificates in Education (PGCEs) will be recognized under this category.
• For Indian nationals, a valid teaching license/credential in English education issued by an official education authority is required. TEFL/TESOL/CELTA certification does not fulfill this requirement.

This should be submitted as a copy; we do not need the original physical license/certificate. Clear printouts of official teaching licensure and active registration from an official online database will also be acceptable.

TEFL/TESOL/CELTA Certification

Applicants who do not have a degree in Education/teaching-related field nor formal teaching credentials must complete this certification to meet eligibility requirements. They are still able to apply while they are in the process of completing their certification course, as long as they can provide proof of enrollment and submit a sworn declaration that they will submit it at least one month before the expected contract start date.

• Certificates from accredited course providers will be accepted.
• Courses can be completed in-person/in-class, online, or a mixture of both.
• Courses must meet a minimum total of 100 real-time hours, which must be clearly listed on the certificate.
  • In-person/in-class hours will only be recognized if it is clearly stated on certifcate, or if a supplementary letter is submitted with the certificate copy. Otherwise, all hours will be considered as online only.
  • If the course was completed as part of a degree minor and/or only lists credit hours (or does not list any), then a supplementary letter from the institution must be submitted that clarifies the total number of real-time hours.
