The Korean Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development invites qualified candidates
from Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States of
America to apply for its 2006 English Program In Korea (EPIK) English Language Instructor (ELI)
positions. Since its inception, EPIK has successfully hired and placed more than 2,000 ELIs
throughout Korea. EPIK is a well-established and exciting opportunity for both beginning and
veteran teachers alike.

250 Teachers Needed for EPIK

EPIK (English Program In Korea) is a unique teaching opportunity sponsored by the
Korean Ministry of Education.



We are looking for qualified University graduates from the designated six English speaking
countries: Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States of
America to fill 250 positions.



Basic requirements:
BA degree or higher in any discipline



Salary, Duties, & Benefits:







- Salaries range from 1.8 to 2.3 million won/month

- One year renewable contract (September 1, 2006 - August 31, 2007)

- Teaching hours: 22 classroom hrs/week

- 10-day orientation to living and teaching in Korea

- Settlement allowance

- Furnished housing provided

- 14 days paid vacation

- Airfare reimbursement

- Severance pay (equivalent to approximately one month’s salary, at the completion of
a 12-month contract)

- 50% of medical insurance premiums and pension contributions provided

- Job security guaranteed
