EPIK (English Program In Korea)|설문조사 참여
Greetings from the EPIK Staff,
Greetings from the EPIK Staff,

We are happy to report that we have completed a successful orientation for the September 2007 placement. We are not only impressed, but overwhelmingly grateful to have such a great group of  EPIK teachers this year.

The orientation took place from August 25th to the 31st at Korea University’s Seochang Campus. At the airport, we were met with much enthusiasm even though the majority of our teachers had just experience a 15-hour flight.

The week that followed contained lectures on teaching methods, co-teaching, and adjusting to life in Korea. Topics of our guest lecturers’ presentations included effective classroom management, teaching conversational English, team teaching, and life as an EPIK teacher.

EPIK teachers also could experience parts of Korean cultures by attending a Korean Traditional
Music Concert by CCKTPA (the Cheonju City Korean Traditional Performing Arts) and visiting a
Korean folk village.

For us, the EPIK staff, this was our first orientation under NIIED. This current group of teachers gave us an experience we will never forget and we hope everyone will create wonderful memories for not only themselves but their students as well.

Unfortunately, some late coming EPIK teachers could not participate in our main orientation. To
make up for this, we will be holding an additional orientation at NIIED in Seoul from September 28th to the 30th.

Also, we will be sending CDs of the orientation photos to the POE offices for each EPIK teacher so please expect their arrival soon.

Lastly, we will be sending out a list of EPIK teachers’ emails, including those of the late comers.
Please join us in welcoming them to Korea and our EPIK family.
