Greetings from the EPIK Office.
We have updated the General Required Documents Guide for the Spring 2024 intake to clarify EPIK's policy regarding the use of certified copies of previously-submitted documents for in-country applicants.
For previous EPIK applicants or direct-hire public school teachers who are still in Korea and have transferred once before, you must obtain the certified copies of your previous apostilled CRC, apostilled diploma, and transcripts from the initial Office of Education or independently-operated school that you worked with when you first came for your current period of sojourn in Korea.
For example:
1) Obtained E-2 visa sponsored by POE A for Spring 2020 intake
2) Transferred to POE B for Spring 2021 intake
3) Transferred to MOE C for Spring 2022 intake
4) Applying to transfer to MOE D for the Spring 2024 intake
In this case, you must obtain the certified copies from POE A if you wish to use them for the application process. If they no longer hold on to the original copies for any reason (including returning them to you), then you must obtain new original copies of the apostilled CRC and sealed transcripts. As the apostilled diploma copy is not time-sensitive, it can be reused if the original copy was returned to you and is still in good condition.
If you have any questions regarding this, please reach out to your Spring 2024 EPIK coordinator, or if you have not applied yet, please send us a general inquiry at epik@korea.kr or by calling our office at 02-3668-1399.
