Starting in September 2006, a new EPIK ELI Level will be put in place. The new level will be known as Level 1+. Level 1+ ELIs will receive what was previously known as the Special Allowance. This
change was made to give long-term ELIs better recognition of their faithful service to EPIK and to
assist them in their future careers.
