BEST RESTAURANT IN INCHEON

Written by Wade Atherton
The abundance of restaurants in Incheon makes life easy if you¡¯re trying to find something to eat. There is also great variety which means there is always something to match anyone¡¯s taste buds. Whether you are craving some Korean, Mexican, Indian, or a standard Western meal, Incheon has it all. As the city of Incheon is on the coast the fish and seafood is mostly fresh, and all imported products are quite cheap. Therefore one can eat both luxuriously or on a budget depending on your style.
In my opinion, the best restaurant is defined by three things. The first is the variety of dishes on the menu. The second is that the meals served at this restaurant should not only taste great but also be appealing on the eyes. An expensive restaurant would offer both of these things to you but one cannot always afford such places or perhaps repeated visits. Therefore the final area which identifies the best restaurant is affordability. The restaurant that I think best fits this description is Olly Olly.

Olly Olly is a reasonably priced buffet style restaurant (always great for foreigners who have large appetites). The main item on the menu is sushi. Most evenings they have atleast 4 chef¡¯s who are continually preparing well over 20 kinds of sushi dishes. The taste is not only fantastic but they put a lot of effort into the presentation of the sushi too. The sushi comes in all shapes and sizes with a flavor for each taste bud, such as raspberry cream cheese, fried tofu, tempura prawn and many more.

As I said before variety is key in my selection of the best restaurant, and Olly Olly has this variety. Accompanying its amazing sushi dishes, there are also more wholesome meals such as lasagna, roasted potatoes, dok bokki, creamy carrot soup and a few other Western and Korean dishes. There is also a salad bar where you can get some fresh tomatoes, greens, sliced parmesan, roasted garlic and many dressings and dessert section with different types of pastries, fresh fruit and green tea ice cream on offer.

When I go I usually start with the sushi, my favorite being the ¡°Blueberry California Roll¡± and the ¡°Salmon Sashimi¡±. Once I have had my fill of sushi I have some of the lasagna with fruit (watermelon, pineapple, orange, melon, grapes and litchi¡¯s) as a side dish. Of the desert options I have really begun to enjoy the green tea flavored ice cream and I tend to cover it in chocolate sauce just to feel like a kid again.

The decor of Olly Olly is light and inviting, the walls and floor are a bright sparkling white and the furniture is modern and comfortable. The restaurant is on the 6th floor in the middle of Bupyeong business district so you get great views at night. There is both a private and open room area available in the restaurant.
The restaurant staff are very helpful and some are able to converse comfortably in English which helps out a lot when trying to decipher the Korean sushi labels. There is also an English menu which gives details about the drink prices as well as a few other things about the food and the restaurant. The menu also indicates that you may order other meals such as steak or pastas that are not offered as buffet items, however I have not tried any of these meals myself as the buffet selection is more than satisfying.

To get to the restaurant it¡¯s best to go to exit 21 in Bupyeong station then walk towards Baskin Robbins or Starbucks that¡¯s along the main road. Olly Olly is above Baskin Robins and is accessible by an elevator. There are posters and sign boards on the street marking the restaurant as well.
Overall, I would rate Olly Olly as one of the best restaurants in Incheon for its variety of tasty meals and value for money. I have returned to this restaurant several times in the space of just a few months but each time I go I promise myself that I will come back again.
