Promoting EPIK in Ireland

Haekyung Lee & Dong Hee Kim
EPIK Team Directors

English Program In Korea(EPIK) visited Ireland from March 21 to 28 to promote the program. Three management members who ran the Information Session included the director of National Institute for International Education, Sang Ki Jung, the EPIK Recruitment Team director, Donghee Kim, and the Recruitment Manager, Hyoun Namgoong. Within the short period of time, they visited 7 different national universities such as University College Dublin, Trinity College Dublin, Dublin City University, National University of Ireland(Maynooth), National University of Ireland(Galway), University of Limerick, and University College Cork. About 250 university students and alumni enthusiastically participated in the information sessions and raised interesting questions. The sessions were held upon the requests from the Irish Embassy in Korea and the former Minister of Education and Science of Ireand, Mr. Batt O'Keeffe, T.D.
These sessions helped to foster meaningful partnerships between EPIK and the above-mentioned universities. Most of the Irish universities had agreed on promoting EPIK by posting on-line EPIK banners or placing EPIK's recruiting advertisements. Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland will represent EPIK in the coming Career Fair, which is scheduled to take place this October in Ireland. It is said that there will be about 20,000 participants this year.
